The primary focus of the meeting will be on transit service changes that will affect south Kirkland in the near future and over the next several years. We will be hearing from KC Metro on upcoming changes to Kirkland bus routes affected by eliminating buses from the downtown Seattle transit tunnel due to the increase in light rail in the region. Changes to bus service on route 255 and other routes due to construction on SR 520 at Montlake also will be provided. Sound Transit will provide us the latest information on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project for I-405, including concepts for the Kirkland station at NE 85th Street/I-405. City of Kirkland staff will then present city plans and projects for improving transit service within south Kirkland, including the recently completed Kirkland Transit Implementation Plan (KTIP).
We also will provide updates the Neighborhood Safety Program, the Neighborhood Matching Grant project application, the ongoing update to the City's Tree Code, and the latest schedule for the Northwest University Master Plan.
