Northwest University Master Plan Update

5/10/2016

At our last meeting we received a great presentation from Northwest University on their vision for an update to their Master Plan. Some great questions from the audience. They've done a great job reaching out to the neighborhood in the early stages. Look for updates as they move their plan into the city's planning process. Be sure to attend public hearings or send in email to the city if you'd like to add your voice to shape NU's Master Plan. Hope you were able to make it to their open house May 9. Here's the link to the Northwest University Master Plan web page. The presentation from last Wednesday is below.

Do you have an email address to send comments to the city about Northwest's expansion plans? Every contact for comments goes right to Northwest. Thanks.

Thank you for the contact information. I emailed Mr. Leavitt about the Master Plan update and received a response almost immediately.

This is what he said:

Thanks for the email. The Master Plan update process is an extensive process and there will be plenty of opportunity for public comment and input. We expect the application to be submitted in early June by NWU. Once it’s submitted we will review for completeness and that will take around 28 days. Once the application is deemed complete, a notice will be sent to all property owners within 300 feet of the campus and public notice signs will be installed along all adjoining right-of-ways. This will be the first opportunity for public comments. We will also be setting up a website for the project. Attached is a sheet that outlines the complete process. Thanks.

H - thanks for the follow up. Maybe you got such a quick response because Mr. Leavitt has received email from a couple of NU's neighbors already :-).
