There will be a variety of interactive, informative, and fun activities for people of all ages. On the bridge you will find exhibits from the Pacific Science Center, expert LEGO builders, and an assortment of STEM-related activities highlighting the science, technology, engineering, and math that went into building the world’s longest floating bridge.
Opening Ceremony, 10:30 AM
A ribbon-cutting ceremony at the midpoint of the bridge. The ceremony will feature remarks from Gov. Jay Inslee and other key speakers, recognition of the stakeholders who made the bridge possible, and a Guinness World Records judge to certify the bridge as the world’s longest floating bridge.
Ribbon cutting stations
Cut the ribbon to the bridge! Two ribbon-cutting stations will allow you to cut the grand opening ribbon and take a section home with you as a keepsake of the grand opening.
Passport to the bridge
Receive a passport as you arrive at the event and have it stamped at stops and activity stations along the bridge. Participants with at least two stamps will have an opportunity to enter a drawing to win free Delta Air Lines tickets. Learn more
Build-a-Bridge
Many of the key pieces of equipment and heavy machinery used to build the SR 520 floating bridge will be available to touch and experience. Examples include diving equipment and fire safety trucks!
