Unsecured mailboxes At the last CHNA meeting, we talked about mail theft. Well, this last week it seems that one of our Sandhurst neighbors was the victim of mail theft. The thieves targeted an unsecure (insecure:)/unlocked mailbox and took only a few pieces of mail. The mailbox was one of the boxes on the left.
| In our meeting I mentioned that we have secured/locked mailboxes in our part of the cul-de-sac. A picture of them is on the right. There are thirteen mailboxes in the secure unit. The cluster box unit cost around $1500 plus an additional installation charge. I believe each neighbor ended up paying around $150 total. Another condition was that we had to get everyone in consecutive house numbers to sign on for the project, otherwise the US Postal Service wouldn't deliver.
