The following was submitted to the Kirland City Council and Deputy City Manager Jim Lopez on January 17 as input to the public hearing on the Permanent Supportive Housing Agreement. Claudia Balducci, our representative on the King County Council, and the King County's Executive office were copied on the email.
Kirkland City Council-
The attachment provides the comments and testimony from the Central Houghton Neighborhood Association on the PSHA between the City of Kirkland and King County for the planned permanent supportive housing facility at the former la Quinta Inn in south Kirkland.
As noted in the document, CHNA and our community look forward to continuing to work with the City, County, and facility operator to assure a safe and successful project. We ask that the agreements provide for a formal Community Advisory Board and transparent reporting process that allows for a robust community involvement program both before and after residents move in. Integrating the PSH into the community will build trust and help resolve potential concerns before they become major issues.
